"Why are the little rubber feet that come with equipment not up to the job?"

The feet that come with most products are generic, extremely cheap and often poor quality items.
Many Hi-Fi companies and designers, either through ignorance concerning the importance of correct
vibration isolation or simply a cost cutting exercise, neglect this vital issue. Sadly, many audiophiles
are willing to accept the misguided and ultimately very expensive advice of an ill-informed shop assistant.
They upgrade unnecessarily their entire systems or spend huge sums of money on cables, connectors
and other accessories, when in reality the problem is poor hi-fi component isolation.
